A spanish blue village
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 @ 10:25 PM

The Company SONY was looking for a village in order to release its last film about smurfs "Smurfs in 3D"; they were looking all around the world and....suddenly they found a little village in Málaga (South of Spain) --concretely in the Valley of the Genal-- named Júzcar.

Then, SONY decided to paint all the village with the blue color --as the color of Smurfs--.Everybody in the village help to paint their houses.

This is the result.

When the filming was finished did Sony then help them paint it all white again?

Hello, Sandra: I do not know the terms of the contract among SONY and the city council of Júzcar; but I can imagine that if the city council wants to paint the village again white, SONY shall help it.Anyway, I think that perhaps the city council prefer that the village stays with blue color thinking in tourism.
Spend a good day and receive my best regards.

You are perhaps right in thinking the town council prefer to leave the colour as it is.
It certainly has an ethereal and mystical glow in the twilight and will attract tourists curious to investigate the phenomena.
You also have a good day Louis .

Just to add.
Over the past few days we have been having intermittant torrential rain storms.
My niece collected her children fron school wearing a new pair of jeans. When she got home her feet were blue wghere the dye had run from the jeans.
She says the next ime it rains when picking up the children she is going for the total 'smurf' look by wearing a blue jacket and balaclava!
