2014 Corvera opening still feasible, says government

The new Murcia airport could have all its permits by December
Despite fears that this year could end with the new Region of Murcia International Airport in Corvera still not open, Manuel Campos, the regional minister for Development and Public Works, still maintains that an opening date sometime between September and December is “very possible”.
The airport is complete, he claims, and could be used today if necessary, although he is also reported as saying that the runway, baggage retrieval system and computer systems need to be finished off. The only things missing are the licences and permits, a management company to run the facility, and of course a finance plan: this last point is the issue on which the future of Corvera rests.......
