PARADOR PROPERTIES GOES INTO ‘VOLUNTARY ADMINISTRATION’
Tuesday, July 8, 2008 @ 7:18 PM

This piece of news hit the press today.

Parador were property sales partners to First Choice and Thomson Holidays

Overseas Property Professional (OPP) can reveal exclusively that the large overseas property agency Parador Properties has gone into voluntary administration as of this morning.

An official statement sent to the offices of OPP this morning from Quay West Communications, Parador’s PR company, reads: “It is with regret that Parador Properties has announced that, due to the downturn in the overseas property market, it has gone into voluntary administration. This does not affect property purchases by any of its clients, as all contracts were made between the individual client and the builder; Parador Properties acted only as an introductory agent.”

OPP has contacted the offices of Parador and will provide an update to this story as and when it happens.

Having purchaced through Parador June 2007 we still have no start on our new home although £90,000paid .We were singed to Parador owners and received no help at all . Phone calls ect ignored. We returned to Crete yet again in June and managed to find SEANin the parador office. He advised us that our money paid to them would be refunded--some hope this has never happend. He did say that the company would be fransied.

Please note that the majority shareholder of Parador Properties S.L. (spanish company) is Parador Properties Limited (the english one).

So be sure who has the money you have paid. If the money is in Parador Properties SL hands, you have a big problem.

Parador Spain will continue, although in what title is unknown. Parador UK controls all other destinations(Portugal, Turkey, Cyprus etc.)and were subsidised by Parador Spain and this could no longer continue, hence voluntary administration.Parador Spain, in whatever title, will honour all agreements on Spanish purchases.

Well Parador certainly has let a lot of people
down. We started our purchase on March 2004
and here we down the line in 2008 and still withnothing to show for our money. We are suing for our money back now but that is taking it's toll on our pockets. Thanks Parador for nothing you must have known if the builders had received their paperwork licences
or did you not care!!!!

Well I am shocked by this. We completed Aug 07 in Vera Playa. We must have been one of the few who were lucky enough to have things go very smoothly and had really good After Sales service. We met our contact Michael each time we were in Spain and he was there throughout completion and also carried out our snag testing. Our best wishes to everyone trying to get your problems sorted.

I feel sorry for the ones who lost money and time ,beause they purchased property through Parador Properties.I bought my property from a local company based in Altinkum Turkey Darius Homes. We received our title deeds and they did not charge us any single penny for their excellent after sales service.I would highly recommend them to anybody thinking to buy in Turkey.Do not go for the international companies,go for the local ones...

Hi everyone,if you are in fear of loosing your money or your rights on your property which you bought from Parador properties in Turkey,no worries, you can get it from either the developers and/or parador itself as the Turkey laws stand on your side for those issues. We found a lawyer in Turkey and he got our money back.If anybody needs that sort of legal assistance,I would recommend our solicitor. He is really good!

We put our misplaced trust in Parador Properties back in 2006, in respect of the Almanzora Country Club, in Almeria, their treatment of its clients i believe was below contempt and has now left many people fighting through the courts in order to get their life savings back. No sympathy whatsoever for Parador!!!

I was out in Turkey in July and paid extra money for goods to furnish the apartment. They must have known about this but continued to take the money.
I just cant belive they can continue to opperate as Parador Spain! I only hope i big enough noise is made so nobody else deals with the company. By the way dont expect much help in this country either. I have contacted Trading standards, Insolvency company and Company House about parador. They do not know anything about Parador going into administration and therefore anybody calling to ask about the company will still be told that everything is OK!

We have just been to visit our property in Turkey which is due to be finished in Nov 2008. Parador were unhelpful and we had to make our own arrangements to see the property. We too have paid into the owners club and received nothing and have also lost our funiture pack and are unsure about the white goods which we were led to believe were being supplied by the builders. Please could Nancy let us know which solicitor she used or whether she thinks our Turkish solicitor would deal with it. Thanks

I too have lost furniture and white goods, but have been told by administrators that its only Parador in London that is in administration not Spain.

Could not believe what we were told when the Parador Rep came to pick us up on 10 September 2008 to take us to Solicitors to do transactions. We, presume we will not get our granite worktops as promised by them, which was what swayed us in the end to purchase a Polaris Spanish property. Thank goodness we are at the last hurdle i.e picking up keys in October, when we will have to make our own way for the first time. Feel sorry for those that have just started.

Parador has ripped us off surely Polaris must have known ,we paid £600+ for peace of mind, as they said we are just at the other end of the phone to sort any problems out for you.Just because they closed English head office so what they are still trading in other countries ie Spain ,Cyprus etc.We bought in Spain ,so that must mean any extras we are contemplating purchasing cannot be done because head office in England has gone bust .I dont think so bet they will still keep badgering us for any extras they can get .We are going to Spain on the 18th january for a week and are going to see a solicitor and any newspapers i can to see if they will inform other people about the dealings of Parador /Polaris, just how many people dont know and how many do know. How much is involved

Went to Parador offices on Tuesday 20/1/09. Only 4 to 5 people in office, how different from May 08 it was buzzing thn, dont trust them, wish I hadnt. Gave me the run around, had to to Polaris office miles away to collect contract they had forgotten to return my copy.
Will not bother with Parador again, waste of space. Saw developement, not at all, like we led to believe, middle of now where, not golf course ready, supposed to complete May 09, whats the point of apartment looking over miles of dirt and dust. They look like tenament blocks pulled down in England years ago, horrible.

we also purchased a property in Turkey off plan with Parador, which is due for completion in Sept 09. We are currently trying to get our owners club membership money back and we have been advised we have to do this via our solicitors.(which I bet we will be charged for) our builders ODEK have been great and I wish we had known about them first as you can buy direct and the team are great there. However if it helps anyone the number for Parador Administration issues is 020 700 28838. hope this helps some of you out there . I agree Parador after care is CRAP . Although they have put us in touch with an excellent builder. Anyone know if we can get any help with the euros costs as we are now paying £10,00 more for our property than expected .

I have just come back from Bodrum Turkey, where we had purchased 2 properties, off plan 2006, through Parador, One on Lakeside, the other on Torquise. I could not believe the problems we had, the furniture packs supplied by Parador, was missing, the white goods supplied by Artev were also not supplied, in 1 of the properties, we went to the office every day, but was fobbed off with excuses, like there on order, they will be there tomorrow. & finally they said that it wasn't on the contract for them to supply the goods, but for Parador, but after a long a debated argument, they said they will honor there promise. but will take back the curtain rails that they had supplied by mistake. had to change the the locks to stop them entering the apartment. it was a total nightmare, from start to finish, as the site was only half finished, it was not what we had expected.

Parador are liars and cheats and tell you what u want to hear take their big fat fee then leave u in the lurch. I do not personally have the finance to go legal but would people be prepared to group together to see if as americans call it a "class action" could be taken against what remains of parador, legal parties, directors? These people deserve payback.

Mrs Honey,
Im afraid there is nothing legally left to pursue with Parador. The company went bust last year, the directors having walked away with their millions leaving you as screwed customers and the likes of me being owed thousands in wages.as I said earlier this year,BBC Watchdog were planning an expose and have large amounts of evidence and are always ;looking for more. There may well be some way of pursuing the likes of the Hamiltons and Mr lambert for fraudulently running a business. In fact the Hamiltons are now running a new business in Dorking I believe selling, you guessed it,properties in Spain and Turkey.
I wish you the best of luck!!

Checking there partners who were extreamly reputable, I decided to pay that fee.
I did have a contact at Parador who said I could get this back.
Haha.
Clare Sweeney is probably full of paper cuts from my £500.
What a joke.

I am up for any legal fight if people are willing to get together to sort this out.

And what Mr Lambert s private life has to do with any of this is beyond me, if people are going to make such public statements I suggest they do their homework first, so as not to slander anyone.

I'm not sure how much the former Mrs Lambert paid Atlas or whether Atlas is the former Mrs Lambert herself but a greater load of rubbish I have rarely read. The ordinary courts of England have found her to be something a greedy and vindictive gold digger. Mr.Lambert is no angel - who is? - but the fall of Parador all but wiped him out and when the money went, so did the former Mrs Lambert. Wealthy men, beware.......
