Legal tip 490. No IHT in Cataluña from 2012 on
06 April 2011 @ 10:38

Cataluña government  decided yesterday to eliminate  Inheritance Tax for  close family relatives: spouses, ascendants and descendants.  Cataluña will be the region with lower IHT from then on. This will help to avoid flight of capitals to other regions.

This decission will be in force starting the 1st in January 2012.

This is most interesting....
However, what are the rules in Andalucia...? We presently live in rented property in the Alpujarra hills, but intend to purchase a property locally once our house in the UK is sold.We do not propose to spend over 150k €, but it would be useful to know just how much IHT could be levied on the survivor......

Would you mind sending an email to me to:

web@costaluzlawyers.es?

I would need some details such as age of possible heir, character of the house...
