Legal tip 980. Corruption
Monday, June 24, 2013 @ 3:21 PM

Like in Europe, like in North America, like in many other latinamerican countries. The simple problem in Brazil these days is lack of civic virtues and values at the personal level. All included: politicians but also professionals, educators, parents, athletes, students....

We lost our bearings by thinking that life was all about consuming. These-- corruption and subsequent protests all over the world-- are the present social and political consequences, after the hypercorrupted times of over financing and the so-old-now economic crisis!

But we can certainly keep hopes up as right/joyful orientation is being born and spread out :

I enjoyed listening to this Harvard Professor today:

How true Maria..... is this why you share information on EOS for free? It's one way of achieving happiness!!!
I bet there are some who might perceive it differently (as hidden agendas), so positive perception and an ability to instill trust via genuine unconditional actions and motives is equally important is it not?
If we look to the act of educating in relation to justice, it's so important to recognise the value of knowledge, and how this links to happiness in the form of the ability to relieve stress by SHARING that knowledge base.
If only law firms would share a common goal in this regard to the benefit of many, perhaps greater happiness would ensue?
Just some practical food for thought.
Many thanks once again.

Avaaz the campaign organisation also speak of this being the time for powerful, direct, non violent action to capture imagination, convey moral urgency, and inspire people to act.... this appears to be the time to focus attention on all manner of issues of corruption and thereby regain some of those "classical virtues" you highlight Maria. We live in hope!
