HI PETER,

IN THIS CURRENT TUMULTUOUS MARKET , PARTICULARLY IN SPAIN I
THINK IT IS UNWISE TO PLUNGE INTO PROPERTY BUYING UNLESS U
HAVE MONEY TO LOOSE OR BURN, AS ALL INDICATIONS OF THE PROPERTY MARKET POINT TO A FURTHER FALL IN PRICES OF AT LEAST ANOTHER 10 TO 15 PER CENT DUE TO THE MASSIVE NUMBER OF DWELLINGS THAT REMAIN UNSOLD RUNNING INTO THE HUNDRED OF THOUSANDS,IN OTHER WORDS IF U BOUGHT YOUR VILLA MOW AT LETS SAY 500 000 EUROS THAT WILL NOT GO UP IN VALUE , BUT IF
U WANT TO SELL IT IN 2015 IT WILL BE WORTH ONLY AROUND 400000 PLUS OTHER COSTS.
IN OTHER WORDS THE MARKET WILL CRASH FURTHER WITHOUT ANY DOUBT FOR ANOTHER REASON.THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT IS CURRENTLY TRYING TO CHANGE THE RULES ON EXPATS ,RESIDENTS
AND NON RESIDENTS FOR TAX PUPOSES AND ANY PROPERTY OWNERS
WILL BE HAMMMERED WITH DEMANDS.THATS WHY CURRENTLY THE BEST OPTION IS TO RENT LONG TERM ONLY,WHICH IS GOOD VALUE
AND CUTS OUT ALL THE PROBLEMS WITH THE SPANISH OR LOCAL
AUTHORITIES THAT U MIGHT ENCOUNTER,YOUR ONLY CONTACT U WILL EVER HAVE IS WITH THE PROPERTY OWNER (PROBABLY ENGLISH ANYWAY) OR THE AGENT THAT SUPPLIED THE VILLA.
BY THE WAY IF I WAS TO RENT LONG TERM I WOULD ALSO CUT OUT
THE AGENT AND RENT DIRECT FROM THE OWNER THUS MAKING A SAVING OF AT LEAST 15% ALSO ON THE PLUS SIDE IF U DONT LIKE IT
ANYMORE AFTER ONE YEAR U CAN MOVE OUT AND HAVE NO FURTHER
FANANCIAL WORRIES UNLIKE BUYING AND MOVE ON.

I WISH U GOOD LUCK.

P.S THE SPANISH UNLIKE THE BRITISH PROPERTY BUYING PROCESS
SEEMS TO BE A BIT CORRUPT EVEN TAKING ON LAWYERS
OR ABOGADOS,U MUST HAVE HEARD OF PEOPLE ENDING HAVING
TO LIVE IN CARAVANS AFTER THEIR HOUSES WHERE TAKEN
AWAY AND BULLDOZED.I DID NOT WANT TO DEPRESS U JUST
FACTS AND DONT HAVE NIGHTMARES.
