The endless rescue work of Angie McCready, on the Costa Blanca

Angie moved to the Southern Costa Blanca inland from Alicante 9 years ago from the UK. She hadn't realized the plight of dogs here until she arrived. She was shocked, outraged, and felt she needed to do something. She was soon bottle feeding puppies that had been found dumped in bins, picking up strays from the street, and finding them new homes. Many didn't even go any further than Angie's home... She's a confirmed failed fosterer on more than one occasion. At the last count she has 11 ranging from quite small dogs to a Spanish Mastiff who is the gentlest dog ever.

Missy keeps getting better & better.

From Angie: Nicola has come to visit for a week. Missy had no hesitation in coming into the house on her arrival, but as always kept her distance. This morning, this happened! Missy watches the other dogs and is learning from them that it's ok to approach visitors and get a stroke. Getting there Missy, ...her past is slowly diminishing, and she is beginning to enjoy her life now.

Laura having her last play with the pups

From Angie: I think Laura has enjoyed her stay with me this past week, especially giving lots of cuddles to the pups. We moved them back indoors today because last night we had an horrendous storm, and today outside is plagued with flies and flying ants. The pups have less room to run around in but better than outside with all those beasties.

Stormin Norman is in da house!  cheeky
Meet Norman, who is now being fostered by Angie. This lovely young dog was found lying next to a dead galgo at the side of the road. It seems he too was hit as he has a fractured elbow. Norman is only about a year old, very loving and affectionate, and gets on well with other dogs. Actin have kindly offered to sponsor Norman.. Once he is vaccinated, castrated, chipped and passported he will be looking for a home to call his own.

From Angie: Norman has laid quite happily in his pen for the past 2 days. He's been out on a lead for short walks and getting to know the rest of the pack. Today, on returning from a short shopping trip, Norman has somehow managed to escape his pen and is happily trotting about with the rest of the dogs here. I have no idea how he got out. The pen door is still locked and the only way out was over the top, so with a fractured elbow it must have been some mission!! Thankfully he has obviously been accepted by the rest of the pack and is now in the house asleep!
