Primark in Spain - a quick review
16 February 2010 @ 15:59
I recently paid my first visit to Primark in Spain - the store in Algeciras in the new Puerto Europa shopping centre. The shopping centre itself was fairly quiet, but the Primark shop was by far the busiest. It's probably still a bit of a novelty in Spain as there are no clothes shops here anywhere near as cheap as Primark.
The store was a lot smaller than the typical Primark store in the UK, and therefore the range was fairly limited. A few months back though, I walked past the Primark store in Barcelona (it was closed at the time) and that looked much bigger.
A number of people I know that have been to Primark here in Spain have said it was expensive but I didn't find it too bad. I think with the current exchange rate (£1 = €1.15) it works out cheaper buying in the UK if/when you go back for a visit.
I definitely think Primark will do well in Spain, especially in the current economic environment. The Spanish do tend to be quite careful with their money as well!
