The name Sierra Nevada means "Snowy Mountain Range", it is Spain's top ski resort sometimes extending from November through to May. It is also well known and popular for rural tourism and particularly in the summer, attracts those who love walking and climbing activities. In the foothills of the Alpujarras,are cultivated terraces of almond trees and vegetables.
