The town of Palomares is situated on the coast and is approximately 15 minutes drive from Garrucha. It has shops, schools, medical care and banks. There are some attractive and secluded coves and sandy bays along the coastline. The nearby town of Garrucha, is well known for its seafood restaurants serving the local speciality, freshly caught red prawns.
