Maigmo is a small residential area amid a flowery landscape. It is approximately 30 mins by motorway to Alicante and the sea. The landscape is hilly with pine trees and a reservoir. Miagmo mountain which is 1,296 m is a challenge for mountaineering/climbing enthusiasts. You can reach it by taking the road to Castalla. Although you can drive up a track leading almost to the top, the energetic will ascend on foot and have a pleasant rest on the Balcón de Alicante, which offers panoramic views of the Castalla mountains and the Alicante plain, with the blue Mediterranean in the background.
