La Canalosa village has 3 bar restaurants, a general shop, tobacconist, butcher on Saturdays and a church. There are approximately 200 residents. It is situated in and around the Crevillente Mountains. All amenities necessary can be found in the neighbouring towns of Hondon de las Nieves and Hondon de los Frailes which are only a few kms away. There is a choice of local swimming pools and gymnasiums and a free local pool in July and August. About 20 minutes away is the town of Elche which has more to offer having a new shopping mall with large supermarket, restaurants, ten pin bowling and cinema. Activities available in the area are quad biking, trout fishing, horse riding and thermal baths with massage and therapy treatments.
