The name Guadalest means 'Eagle's Nest' and is situated about 25 km inland from Benidorm along the CV-70 road. It is approximately 1 hour from Alicante. It is a very popular tourist attraction as it is set high up on a pinnacle and carved out of a mountain top in the midst of stunning scenery. It has a population of only 200 residents.
