Gaucin Area Description

Gaucin is a spectacularly beautiful mountain village. It commands sweeping views to Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of North Africa. The village is situated against the backdrop of the Serranía de Ronda. Gaucin has a population of approximately 2000 . Its magnificent castle has been expanded by the Arabs into a fortress. Kestrels regularly nest in the walls of the mediaeval convent.
