Formentera del Segura is one of the many villages that makes up the area known as 'Vega Baja'. It lies on the bank of the river Segura and is only a short distance from the estuary at Guardamar. The village is divided into two by the road CV905 which is approximately five minutes from Almoradi and 20 Km from the town of Elche. There are numerous and varied restaurants, the stews and rice dishes are particularly of note, which also benefits the economy of the community which is based on agriculture, citrus fruits, cereal crops and vegetables.
