Daya Vieja is a small agricultural town and is close to Laguna de la Mata Nature Reserve. Naturally this attracts the wildlife especially many species of aquatic birds and plants that have adapted to its salty waters. Daya Vieja has several golf courses in its area, such as La Marquesa golf course in Rojales and La Finca in Algorfa. Guardamar gel Segura beach and sand dunes are approx 10 km away.
