Cehegin is centrally situated in the northwest region and has a dry mountainous climate. The town has approximately 14,000 residents which are spread across the 17 villages nearby. Cehegin is approximately 65 kms from the city of Murcia , which is linked by the new motorway (C415). Both International airports in Alicante and Murcia are just over an hours drive away.
Nearby towns of importance include Caravaca de la Cruz, which is a Holy City , Bullas, Calasparra and Moratalla.
