Cádiz is the oldest continuously inhabited city in western Europe. It has been the predominant home port of the Spanish Navy since the accession of the Spanish Bourbons in the 18th century. It is a city and port in southwest Spain. It is the capital of the province. The University of Cádiz is situated here.
