Biar Area Description

The name of the town originates from Roman times. It was one of the most important areas for honey in eastern Spain because of the profusion of flavoursome mountain herbs. Its economy today is based on the production of dolls, blankets and hand-forged metal work. On a smaller scale, ceramic factories produce everything from vases, dishes, bowls, to flower pots and draining boards.
