Hi,

I have noticed car hire costs rocketing over the years. I regularly used Autoamigos. Last summer it cost me approx £600 for 4 weeks peak time, for a polo-type car, which wasn't too bad. They use Goldcar at the airport and speak english. Haven't  tried them this year yet, but often found them the cheapest, esp if booked on-line, and the price is fixed then.

Hope this helps.

I'm trying to sleep in mine, but can't do it. I had beds thrown in as a package deal but they are awful and now I want to change them so I can get a good night's sleep. Have you changed your beds or bought new ones recently? If so where did you get them from and how much did they cost? Did they take your old beds away? I would like to hear from you if you can help at all.

Thanks for that Brendap, I didn't know that existed. I dare say there are other owners who don't and I know there are a few who don't know about this forum. The web site is exactly the sort of thing we need to share information in a single and secure place. Something to discuss in future meetings perhaps?

These are unofficial minutes from the meeting held on 27th April taken by JackieK. Minutes will be sent to all owners in due course.

Firstly, the attendance was quite good. 30-40 properties were represented. It was mentioned the invitation was at too short notice. It was asked if details of future meeting could be advised by e-mail, and this was left for the committee to consider.

The main reason of the meeting was to establish the community and inform the town hall of its creation.

The agenda item referring to as the mistake in the notary was concerning the description of gardens. Some plots with a back garden had these details missed. This has since been rectified on 3rd April and all owners it affected should have been notified. We have a list of properties if  you are unsure.

The estimates for the annual cost were given out at the meeting. This covered pool maintenance, gardens, insurance, admin fees and a reserve etc. Annual fees for each property were announced. A list was handed out giving individual costs for each property. If you want to know your individual cost,  you can PM me or JackieK giving your number and we will e-mail you back.

The costs are currently based on the size of the property and the diference amounts to only a few Euros per property per annum. A direct debit form will be sent out with the minutes. It was decided that this fee should be paid annualy. The payment by DD reduces costs and makes the community charge cheaper for everyone concerned. This estimated cost runs from May 2007-April 2008 and NOT the dates shown on the agenda.

A president and vice-president were elected. These are residents, which makes sense as they are on hand to deal with the communities needs and includes a Spanish-speaking resident. An additional 4 committee members were also elected. I think these will all be named in the minutes.

The services of the administration oficer, Servigest, are to be maintained.

Pool opening hours were established as 08:00-22:00.

Various ideas were mooted re sun beds and benches at the poolside but nothing decided.

Servigest are investigating the cost of a security guard for the community. Details to follow.

That's about it. You should receive official minutes soon.

Just an idea - Dreamhills 1 have their own web site where they post details of meetings, debates and decisions.

Have a  look at it here  http://www.dreamhills.co.uk  Residents there have taken a keen interest in the Dream Hills 2 development and you will recognise some names on this forum!

A web site could be a good place to make these sort of announcements. What about Dream Hills 2? Could we do the same? I would like to propose it to the committee at the next meeting, and I am prepared to maintain the website, at least for the first year, myself or together with other owners, but I am only a hobbyist and not an expert. Anyone else thnk its a good idea, let me know and I will investigate it further.

Hasta la proxima!

Taras, Jackie and James

For Joop and others who haven't received the letter, here is the agenda:

  1. constitution of the community
  2. modification of the community deeds due to a mistake in the notary about the garden description of some houses, in order to repair the notary mistake.
  3. approval of the estimate of the exercise may 07/dec 07
  4. election of officers
  5. any other business

Taken word for word. I do not understand part 2, but maybe someone can shed some light on it? I guess 3 is the community charge. 4 is election of president and vice, which must take place, even resorting to random selection if no-one volunteers, plus committee members.

The meeting is 9.30 for 10.00 a.m on Friday 27th April, at the Torrejoven hotel.

Thanks Conrad for your input.
