I think they are all much of a muchness - I have had good service from Currency Direct & Global Currency Exchange.

Best is to get quotes from a few and trade with best deal - check commissions, rates, sending charges, arriving charges (some have agreements with Spanish banks to waive transfer charges) , time frames etc.

The rate is very unpredictable at the moment but is at a real low so if you have time - i would delay buying currency if i were you. ....... but no promises.

Only 3 weeks ago it was up at about 1.46 (now 1.39 or so). Assuming you are buying euros from stirling!

Otherwise GET STUCK IN!

I didnt realise this and that does suggest that air con is indeed installed. I do think that this is a typo or an oversight but might be worth asking for them to honour the spec!

Keep us up to date.

Hi there and welcome to the forum.

I think I am right in saying that PW will not make any changes to the original design and spec pre-completion as it is too difficult and will slow down everything.

After completion they have many contractors and suppliers that will do almost anything for you. They are happy to do the work (and quite rightly charge for it) but they wont do it before.

If I am wrong - let me know as would be keen myself!

Air con has always been "pre-installation" only. Which is a very confusing term. It means that the pipe work and ducting is already in place but there are no air con units installed.

This is an additional cost - I believe PW are charging 750 euros for this per machine (hot & cold system). You can get other suppliers to fit them from about 500 euros or more depending on brand.

Many people have understood "pre-installation" to mean the machinery is in place already when buying any property in Spain but this is def not the case. I think that all PW Villas have the full kit installed as standard but apartments and Jana villas do not.

Hi there,

I used to sell property around there and Benalmadena is a really lovely place. The Pueblo is very pretty and traditional looking, the costa is a bit busy (especially in summer) and the coast road is daunting and the port is lovely in the day but a bit of a tourist, drinking area in the night.  Arroyo is a happy mix - very much a village just off of the beach road with ex pats and Spanish around. Certainly the best area in that part of coast I think without going inland.
