Do you have equity in the UK you can borrow against? This may be a cheaper option if you really think this is the place you could be happy in. That way you would be a cash buyer, and could maybe negotiate an even better deal.

Apologies if this has already been viewed, but I posted earlier and cannot find the original. I have had one useful response (thanks Roy), but was hoping for some other independent views as a comparison.

We are looking to rent out our apartment in Benalmadena for the first time this year. A neighbour has offered to dothe cleaning and towel/laundry changeover. She has never done this before, and we have never had to make such arrangements. Can anyone advise what is a mutually agreeable rate to charge. Any conditions would be appreciated. Please PM if you do not want to publish openly.

We have had our apartment in Benalmadena for over 2 years, and have never yet rented it out. We have decided that it is time it started contributing to its costs, so we are gearing up for rental. We have a local neighbour living there who is happy to do our turnaround tasks. I assume we are talking cleaning, washing/change of towels, etc. Possibly greeting also.

She has never done this for anyone before, and we have never had such an arrangement. Can anyone tell me if there is a going rate for this service, or do people charge depending upon specifics for that turnaround? We want to ensure that both sides get a fair deal and are happy with the arrangement. If anyone has any examples of what they do I would really appreciate some information. Please PM me if you do not want to broadcast details.

I'm happy with Lloyds, was Halifax. Charges around 20€ per year plus the usual charges. I don't have any other charges as all bills are standing orders. For cash I use a Citibank UK Euro account. Good rates of conversion and no ATM costs as account is in Euros.

Susan, if you are looking for a trustworthy company in the Benalmadena area let me know. I would strongly recommend using the people we used. We are now personal friends and I can vouch for their integrity 100%. Also they only take you to properties that match your requirerments (i.e. they put some work in beforehand). We tried using some people that took us to completely inappropriate properties because they had not done their due diligence.
