Hi All
Just got back from Almoradi the weather is great very hot. Had a real good time (nice place). Went to see Amarion III although we could see it from the flat we were renting, it was just down the road. Bit of a wind up really - so near yet so far!! Nothing has moved on. We walked around the underground car park. Someone had lit a fire in one of the storage rooms, there was a mattress down there and a piece of furniture. We were unable to get up into the flats as they had taken the ladders away. The block where we were staying was built by Urbasa as well. They were pulled off Amarion III to get this one built. Talking to a couple who own a flat there they told us that they had had quite a few problems with Urbasa, like not paying electricity bills when they moved in so they had to borrow money from a business man who bought all the flats on the second floor. They are now having to pay him back. They did not get a lot of back up with the snagging and had to do most of it themselves. They agreed that Urbasa in Almoradi and Elche lie all the time and so did Palmera's solicitor. Building is going on all around Amarion III - flats are going up like wildfire and they are all still working although it is August. Amarion III looks a very sorry sight and is the talk of the town. We did see the Almoradi office clearing out loads of boxes and rubbish. I asked the woman if the office was closing, she said no only for two weeks holiday. She confirmed that Laura had left. We thought five car loads of rubbish was a lot and are wondering if they are going to close. They still have Amarion III in the window and are still advertising the garages - I dont know how they have the cheek!! Have taken some horrible photos which shows the lack of quality of build up against the newer builds around. On a lighter note we had a good meal at Que Pasa which is just along from the Urbasa shop he is from Shepherds Bush and is very sympathetic to our cause but this doesn't mean he will take anything off the bill even though he knows us Southerners are very hard up.

If there are no bank guarantees in place as required by law,and urbasa and palmera know there are none in place, then its reasonable to think that the original funding bank knows about them. It seems that even the largest of institutions can break the law with not a single thought to the people who in good faith have put their money into Spain to have it stolen virtually by law.

When we put our deposit down with Palmera we asked aover the phone for a breakdown of costs, when we were read out the list there was an amount for insurance, when we enquired as to what this was for,we were told it was to cover our deposit. Unfortunately we never got a written breakdown.
