Hi everyone I hope all is going well for the development, although I did cancel my contract back in January as I had had enough of all the bull.... I contacted Maria de Castro, and she managed to obtain agreement for the cancellation with full refund (I did not press for interest as I just wanted out) within 2 weeks. Considering the efforts and responses I had been getting from my old solicitor, this was fantastic. I have only just received the actual refund butit has been a huge relief for me. I would just like to say that Maria really does come up with the goods and would recomend her to anyone who has a problem. Regards Cherry

After many problems with a particular development, I decided to cancel, but my own solicitor was none too helpful with regard to this. I contacted Maria de Castro and I just wanted to say that she really does come up with the goods. She obtained an agreement to cancel with full refund of my deposit within 2 weeks. I know that I could probably have asked for interest, but I think this would have taken more time, cost more money etc and I just wanted out. The refund has now come through, and although it has taken a few months to obtain this, I can now relax and move on as this issue had affected my life for the past year and the thought of losing all that money was quite sickening. I can really recommend Maria and am so grateful to her postings on this site. She really does know her stuff. Although she was in Cadiz area and my development was in Costa Blanca it made no difference. I do feel that this distance may well be an advantage. Cherry

I agree with Tish - never use lawyers recommended by agent.  I have just changed lawyer and am now going down cancellation route of my off-plan as this is now 16 months overdue and still problems.

Hi everyone

Can anyone tell me if they are buying with a spanish mortgage? I have now been told by my solicitor that my bank (spanish) will not complete without the Certificate of First Habitation and that the builder applied for this in October 2005 and that the town hall is going to take 18 months to grant it. This would mean earliest completion for me would be next April. Has anyone else been told this or any advice please.
